Voir tous les avisAttended my first class last Thursday through ClassPass kind of on a whim. I had no prior experience with this kind of martial art so I was very nervous and felt out of place but the instructor and other "students" made me feel very welcome. The atmosphere was very friendly and easy-going but at the same time the instructor (Andrew) wasn't letting me - as the newbie - slack off at all and even with up to 8 other students in the gym, he did find time to teach me 1 on 1. Overall I had a great time, signed up and am going to come back.

It was a weapons class and it was easy to jump in and learn a new skill. We even worked on disarming someone slashing a knife around, so it was a great lesson!

I could tell that it’s a social space where members and instructors are friends. The music was great. A few small areas to note are: the sign out front has a different name from the classpass listing so that was a little confusing, there wasn’t anyone there checking new folks in so there was some uncertainty we were in the right place and where we should go, and it’s more of a technique class than a cardio workout (not a bad thing!).
