Voir tous les avisADORED this class and the instructor!! She pushed me to limits I didn’t know I have. An issue I am having though is the organization of the weights. It’s happened a couple of times that I grab a 15 and 20 pound weight, and only realize it in the middle of a workout because the room is so dark and the smaller weights are all over the place in that inconvenient space. Please consider re-arranging that space.

Voir tous les avisShe is the best instructor I've taken with at Kala. I have had yoga with a few others as well and they were wonderful! Allysa is like a calming drill sergeant. I believe it's because she is really present with her students and can sense when they need that extra, "you're stronger than you think" or "it's okay to choose lower weights if you need that right now". She remembers everyone's name. She notices the small things like if you are trying to knit your lower rib cage together while not even being cued. I mean teachers talk about this a lot in cues but do they really see when you are doing it on your own? It's subtle. I think her years as a professional dancer have helped shape the teacher she is now. The class she designed has an amazing playlist and the short circuits are perfectly tailored so you don't get burnt out by too long of reps in one area. This class is part of why I joined class pass and I hope it stays.

As a new mom getting back into fitness...I really appreciated that. The playlist was absolutely perfect! My only wish is that her classes were offered at more reasonable times because the late weekend and weeknight slots are tough to make work. Would absolutely take her class more often if there were earlier options!

The gym itself has a very community oriented vibe, with other gym goers working out in other parts of the large open space the class is held in. Very much enjoyed it and will be back :)
